Dear Paulette,
Thank you for contacting Unibet.

At Unibet, we appreciate the fact that Identity Fraud is on the rise, and everyone is a potential victim of this crime. Thus, for our own security, and of our customers' we do require a number of official documentation to be sent to us.

Apart from this being a measure which helps us protect our customers it is also e legal procedure Unibet needs to adhere to.

These form part of a number of security checks Unibet is obliged to carry out in order to protect our customers’ details from falling into the wrong hands. Most of our customers understand the fact that we are a very secure website and appreciate this. While our security measures may seem extreme at times the customers who have been victims of fraud elsewhere do not seem to think so. This makes playing at Unibet a safe and enjoyable experience.

I would also like to point out that all documentation sent to Unibet is safe and will not be disclosed to any third party.

Please refer to the following rule from our Terms and Conditions

2.3

Unibet reserves the right, at its own discretion, at all times, to:

Request documents to verify the identity, the authorisation to use a specific Card and/or other facts provided by the Account Holder, before expediting deposits and/or withdrawals

Unibet is a fully licensed online gaming operator, which must comply with a number of standards to maintain it’s licence agreement.

Unibet is also listed on the Swedish Stock exchange, and therefore we must prove that all our systems are compliant with all the requirements from all the financial service providers we use.

Here is the link to our corporate site, which will allow you to view our Annual Report that which will cover in more detail how we run our business www.unibetgroupplc.com

I find this to be an invasive thing as I am not wanting to withdraw money I simply want to transfer money that I WON IN A RAFFLE so that I can use it to play poker on your site...... If and when I decide to withdraw monies from my acct then I would feel more comfortable about sending this very personal information about myself. Identity theft and computer viruses and hacking abound and I am not about to allow anyone an opportunity to steal my identity by helping them out with copies of my drivers license or passport and a bill in my name..... I do not feel comfortable about this at all and like I say I am not looking at withdrawing cash from my acct I simply want to use the money to play on the site....... I would think that as a reputable site you would not want to encourage anyone to provide information such as this over the net knowing that identity theft is far too common nowadays .... Thank you for this and I am sure there is some other way to ensure I am who I say with the info you already have....

How do I verify this?
Validating your account is simple. All you need to do is email the following documents as a reply to this email.

Acceptable utility bill statements include landline phone, heating, water, electricity, and municipal government correspondence where address and name is shown is also accepted. E.g. a letter from your local tax office, police or registry office.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Strange, when I participated in raffles here and won a small prize of 10EUR - there was no problem. I had a transfer of the prize to my main account after some days and I could transfer those funds freely to any account I wanted. Really weird, Paulette.... :(

I talked to another person here who didn't get asked for all this personal info either so why would they ask one and not all the others to keep things fair and uniform..... as you can see from my post I questioned them about this and told them I only wanted to transfer internally not withdraw....

Wow Paulette that is weird! I also won on a raffle and had no problems. My lucky day? LOL I just transferred to the casino however, and not to the poker site. Did you finally triumph? Hope so!
