The European Court of Justice has decided that they now have the authorization to ban online gambling advertisements in Sweden.
Since Sweden has managed to create a government monopoly for online gambling, it is now decided that Sweden can ban the advertisements as well.
Interestingly enough, Malta was the biggest proponent of this decision, which mirrors a similar ruling by France. Not surprisingly, some of the companies that were advertising in Sweden and brought forth this conflict are located in Malta.
