So I've been playing the 5 card draw poker game here on GC. Question: Suppose my best hand is a pair of 2s, however I also have an individual Ace and King. Should I hold my Ace and King instead of my two 2s? Edited by moderator Saturday, August 15, 2020 5:33:45 PM(UTC)

Taking your scenario as an example, the pair of 2's would be the better option as per the Poker ranking table, as it could result in a bigger paying hand for example: Three of a kind, Four of a kind or possibly even a Full House. However, as I'm sure you are aware, the best Poker hand that can be achieved is a Royal Flush. Therefore (again using your example above), should you decide not to hold the pair of 2's, you could hold the Ace and King (suited or unsuited). This decision could result in various outcomes, such as: Straight, Flush (if both cards are suited), Straight Flush and of course the top ranking hand... The Royal Flush. It really depends if you're keen on taking that risk. The difference with GC's "5 card draw" (compared to games like Jacks or Better) is that the "winnings" for getting better hands doesn't go up in correspondence with the value of that hand.
Ex. If I get a Royal Flush in "5 card draw", I'm virtually guaranteed to win, but my $$ winnings # is the same as my wager, whereas in JoB, I receive x800 my wager.
In the previous example, even though the individual Ace alone is marginally worse than a pair of 2s, the Ace (along with the King) have a higher probability of drawing to either a pair of Aces or a pair of Kings than the two 2s do to drawing to either "3 of a kind" or a "two pair". Since I can't win x3 or x2 my wager in "5 card draw" like I can in a game like JoB, perhaps it is better to hold onto my Ace and King instead???

Looking at the first part of your message, you are correct. But James, please keep in mind that the Gambling City Five Card Draw Poker is merely an additional extra for our members, free of charge. A chance to let loose and enjoy a few hands of simple Five Card Draw Poker against the house with a possible withdrawal. In terms of playing Video Poker at an online casino and being able to alter your bets... Yes it would be better to hold the 'Ace' and the 'King'. It is of course risky, but the possibility of hitting and creating a better 5 card hand is achievable, resulting in greater wins. I have included the strategy when playing GC Poker below. Thanks for informative post. I have been into poker lately. Thought my wife never agreed with it, I have been earning some money on it and winning between all my friends lol. I always loved to go at nights to Los Angeles poker club and play some highly mind games with other guys. That gave me good experience but unfortunately we had to leave for our holiday trip and my only solution was to play poker online. Found myself in https://www.m-trends.org and really, I never thought I could make money for a mercedes on a poker, and my wife is shocked haha Edited by user Thursday, October 29, 2020 2:43:20 AM(UTC)
