VistaGaming, can you please tell us what is the overall house edge for a bingo operation (excluding casino games)? I hear it is around 25%. The busier the network/room the more house edge the operation gets. Is that correct?
When there are Special Events (like the one you announce now for example) that guarantees higher jackpots or prizes do the house edge actually increase or decrease? I am asking because I know that higher promoted campaigns are meant to bring more players which in turn buy more tickets than usual so the extra prize might be actually very convenient for the host too?
So everyone wins from a special event/promotion: bingo winners get higher prizes and at the same time the host is boosting earnings?

SinedEgroeg, thank you for your comments. Although I cannot share with you what our exact house edge is; the figure you suggested can be considered a fair figure. The truth is that the house edge can vary from month to month given the players participating in games and the promotions being offered. In our case, we also give our players a lot of Instant Bonuses as a thank you for participating and funding their accounts. These Instant Bonuses can only be played in Bingo and are not tied to any kind of withdrawal requirements .If you were to exclude those bonus wagers made in the games from the equation, the actual “cash” house edge is much less as wagers made in bonus still contribute towards the cash prizes that are given.
In addition, a house edge for any bingo operation may vary according to the games being played. For example Pari-mutuel games will have a set percentage of how much is returned into prizes, for example 80% of the wagers and therefore the house edge would be 20%. On the other hand Pari-mutuel games which have a starting prize and then increase by players’ wagers will have a different setting, for example 60% but this doesn’t mean that the house edge is 40% due to the starting amount. Then you also have guaranteed games which do not have percentages as they have guaranteed prizes; in these games the house edge depends on the number of participating players and cards or tickets sold. The house will only know its edge (if any) once the game is over (or purchasing time is over).
As mentioned above we give generous bonuses with no withdrawal requirements and anything won on our bingo, regardless if bought-in with cash or bonus, is available for withdrawal immediately. We believe this setting helps our players enjoy the true fun that a game of bingo provides.
