I haven't done much work in trying to get referrals. In fact, I have yet to get even ONE referral.

Personally I don't think its possible to convince people to register for GC if THEY DON'T already gamble. Gambling has such a negative image in the world (somewhat justifiably so I guess)....

How do some of you out there try to bring in referrals? Mass email? Talk to people in Land-based casinos? Message people on online forums?

Which methods do you think works best? Furthermore, for a 4% referral rate, do you think its worth it to pursue in the long-run, or is one's energy best spent on other things?

I should add that I have made one goal for myself: To bring in JUST ONE person before this weeks ends!

James, the 4% is based on the total losses of the player you refer. That's 27% of the maximum CB payment of 15% (20% 0f the 20% maximum if a Special Deal is used)

It does seem a good deal to me because the referral is a once-off action and you then continue to collect your cut for the lifetime play of the person you refer. And you don't risk your own money.

Oh oh, gotcha;

I actually thought it was 4% of the total cash-back the player received. So for instance if the player received $100 CB for a month, then I would receive $4, but using 27% of 15%, then I actually I would receive about $27 ($100 x 27%)....

Yes yes in that case, I would agree probably worth the time/investment to try and refer :)

Hi James, I believe it should be motivating. For example if you are my referral and you lose $1000 at a casino you registered via Gambling City, I receive $40 for your past month activity without any effort or risking anything. How much wish I had Gus Hansen among my referrals!

But even if it's worth, you have to jump through hoops to hook up the right people. The more the better, indeed. But you don't really need so many. If you somehow manage to catch 2-3 loyal whales you're the man. I am yet to find one. For me it's forums and land based events.

Land based casinos seems easiest. I'm just trying to convince my gf and her friends to try and convince some of the old regulars we see at our local casino (woman sell more easily, there is no way I could convince them). I see so many retired pensioners just dumping their pension into the slots! There's def a ton of potential out there for sure, but its so much harder to try and redirect people in a way that benefits you (and them).

ps: I don't want to brag, but I might eventually become your one whale Constantin, lol (well maybe)!

Just to add one more thing, I must say that I am a tad surprised that there don't appear to be more "whales" or user on GC.....I mean there are millions of people out there who sign up to online casinos through online affiliate portals, but I don't think a single on of them other than GamblingCity gives them back a percentage of their losses back?

You would think that if your the type that dumps four/five figures each month into a casino (and there are a ton or retirees who are that rich and do this), you would want to be here. Actually I'm surprised no one mentioned GC to me at the BeatingCasinoBonuses website in that thread I mentioned before you first PM'ed and recruited me last year Constantin!

Hello James,
Yes, I agree that gambling has a negative impact on people. But, few casinos are still left which are so trustworthy and I assure you, I will convince my friends as well as cousins to try this.

Hi John

I said it has a negative IMAGE........But yes I agree gambling can have a negative impact on ones pyschological and financial health :)

I wasn't able to convince any of my friends to join GC! This is largely due to online gambling having a negative reputation, however one guy I knew well from work was actually quite the roullette player at land-based casinos (even had his own "wining system/strategy" he claimed)........I was actually kinda annoyed when he said he wouldn't off sign up to a cashback site even if he knew he gambled frequently online (he said it was shady. Not just gamblingcity, but others too like Raketherake, cashbackcat etc).

I will say though that IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME to keep an eye on the forums for users who look like they would be up for this. I was recruited this way and I in turn recruited someone else the same way. You'll never get rich, but with any luck you could make yourself a few hundred bucks of free risk free money each month if you keep it up Anxious

It has a negative image if you let it be. Pick the right people to speak to. If you're trying to advertise gambling city in church of course it won't work.

Not really, if your friends are in the early 20s everybody thinks gambling is the s***.
