Peter Barker steals £20,000 from his former employer.

Peter Barker, a pawnbroker from Salford UK, stole a huge amount of cash by processing 229 card payment transactions from his former employee to gamble at his local casino.

Pawnshop owner, John Stamper, had this to say,"I employed him nine years ago and trusted him when I could not be in the shop at all times because of my health."

Neil Roman, Barker's attorney, said that the defendant developed a gambling addiction after his father had passed away. He also mentioned that he kept his addiction very private.

The defendant was given an 8 month prison sentence. No further details are available at this time.
