43 out of 50 Senators voted YES to approving the sports betting bill!
A bill to legalise sports betting on tribal lands in North Carolina has been given a big thumbs up by the state Senate. It has now been transferred to the House of Representatives.
This Senate approval means the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, currently the only tribe that has an agreement with the state, would be able to launch sports betting on its lands should the House of Representatives, and the lets not forget the Governor Roy Cooper, approve this legislation.
What does this basically mean in none tribal lands in North Carolina?
Legal wagering is restricted to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ Caesars Entertainment-operated Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel in Murphy.
