YouTube has announced that they will now (again) allow gambling advertisements on their site. However, this will only be permissible for "licensed entities” located in England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France or Spain according to new ad guidelines posted to its site. Viewers of these gambling advertisements must verify that their age is 18 or above before they may view such adverts. Over the past two years Google (the company that owns YouTube) has slowly lifted its restrictions on the online gambling industry. This was seen in 2008, when they allowed certain gambling companies to use their AdWords service.
